Every family has its own unique story and cast of characters; a story that is a gift to current and future generations who want to understand where they come from, and know about the remarkable people that live on in them.
How then can families tell their stories in a way that truly captures the essence of a multi generational saga? How can you ensure that younger generations are impressed and intrigued by what they see? And can it be done with the quality and style that conveys a reverence and deep respect for the past?
Something this important and permanent goes beyond what a family can do through Ancestry or an online service. It calls for something bespoke and very special.
THE FAMILY STORY PROJECT:
I am pleased to offer a multimedia portrait to document your family’s story, past and present. The final products being a hard-cover book, and if desired, an accompanying video incorporating: family home movies, archival photographs, new portrait photography, and video interviews.
I bring my 40 years of experience as a: visual storyteller, archivist, designer, commercial/art photographer, and videographer which have garnered over 65 national and international awards.
I have developed the Family Story Project because I am at an age where I truly feel the importance of visual Family Story telling and intergenerational legacies. I also believe that there are families who would want to leave future generations with beautiful documents that would not be shelved and forgotten, but enjoyed throughout the year and added to over time. I will work with you to establish the:direction, graphic design, prepare archival materials, and shoot studio style portraits that represent the latest chapter in your family’s story resulting in a beautiful custom printed-by me-hardcover book, hand bound coffee table style book.
I have completed 2 projects to date. One for Pigott Family that captures a history in Canada stretching from 1671 to the 2020.The second project is about the grandparents of Michael Sinclair which includes an interview with Michael about the multimedia experience.

Pricing is similar to what a multimedia approach for a wedding would cost; but instead of documenting just one day, the story of generations are told in a beautiful manner.
Pricing is determined by how many pages, and the amount of photography+video. Starting at $3500.00 CDN.
